Causes and Consequences of the Global 'Rights Revolution' for Women
MHRC is introducing the Nigar Ahmad & Rubina Saigol Memorial Lecture Series to honor and commemorate the life and work of Pakistani women’s rights activists and scholars: Nigar Ahmad and Rubina Saigol. Both women were pioneering members of the Pakistan Women's Action Forum, and bravely dedicated their lives to the cause of gender equality and women's rights and freedoms in Pakistan through feminist advocacy, scholarship, institution-building, and grassroots organizing.
This webinar series, which will feature talks by scholars on themes of gender inequality and global feminist activism, seeks to ensure that their legacy is commemorated across borders, and passed on to future generations.
We invite you to join us for the inaugural lecture in this series titled "Causes and Consequences of the Global ‘Rights Revolution’ for Women” which will be delivered by Mala Htun, Professor of Political Science, University of New Mexico and co-moderated by Sarah Khan, Assistant Professor of Political Science, Yale University and Sohela Nazneen, Research Fellow, Institute of Development Studies.
