Dr. Misbah Tanveer is an Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at Suleman Dawood School of Business, LUMS. She also holds the position of the Director of the Centre for Business and Society (CBS). Having a Ph.D. in Business and Economics from the University of Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands, she has more than 20 years of experience in industry and academia. She remained affiliated with the State Bank of Pakistan, CREESAW, and the University of Brunei in various capacities, in addition to co-founding two entrepreneurship ventures in Pakistan and UK. Her teaching interests lie in the areas of macroeconomics, business strategy, and women entrepreneurship. She remained extensively engaged in training and consultancy projects for various national & international agencies. She headed the Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Program project, in collaboration with American University, Washington DC, funded by the US government. Her research work is mainly around entrepreneurship, economic growth, labor market dynamics, and discrimination faced by females and disadvantaged groups in labor markets. Her articles are published in well-established peer-reviewed journals like the International Journal of Manpower, Applied Economics, Economic Systems, and European Journal of Development Review, among others. She has presented her work at several conferences in the US, Europe, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
