Farhana Shahzad is a Teaching Fellow in the English Department at the Mushtaq Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has an MSc in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching from the University of Oxford. She has a keen interest in sociolinguistics particularly, corpus linguistics. For her dissertation at the University of Oxford, she researched on Critical Discourse Analysis of Ethnic and Religious Minority Representation in Newspapers in Pakistan. Her research interests also expand toward World Englishes and researches in the domain of English as a Lingua Franca and is currently researching on “Perceptions of students about accentedness and comprehensibility of English Variants”.
