Research Assistant
The MHRC is hiring a full-time Research Assistant for an exciting project on improving tax compliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Dr. Sher Afghan Asad (LUMS) and Dr. Isabelle Cohen (University of Washington) in collaboration with the KP Revenue Authority. This twelve-month position is based in Peshawar and involves supporting the implementation of a randomized controlled trial (RCT), working closely with data, coordinating with field teams and public sector partners, and assisting in stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have a background in economics, public policy, or data science, at least one year of experience with data management and analysis, proficiency in a statistical tool such as Stata, R, or Python, and a strong interest in development research. Fluency in English and Urdu is required, and knowledge of Pashto is a plus. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Dr. Sher Afghan Asad (LUMS) and Maham Rasheed (Northeastern University) are looking to hire a Research Associate for the project on Gender Discrimination in Digital Marketplaces. This project is funded by Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL), a research initiative under the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
The Research Associate will work closely with the PIs to lead the project's overall implementation. This is a full-time, hybrid position, with occasional field visits required in Lahore.
