Pathways to Development Conference
The third ‘Pathways to Development Conference,’ held from December 16-18, at LUMS, co-hosted by the MHRC and other research partners brought together leading academics, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners locally and internationally to discuss critical governance and inclusion challenges. The conference featured engaging sessions showcasing cutting-edge research and stimulating conversation which left participants and panelists with avenues for interventions in the fields of policy and development.
The conference featured keynote speeches by Dr. Lant Pritchett (London School of Economics) and Dr. Mazhar Waseem (University of Manchester) on the current development challenge and taxation in Pakistan, respectively. The conference brought together nineteen panelists to discuss themes including land rights, education policy, and development resilience. In the plenary session, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah underscored the connection between climate finance and climate justice. Presentations by thirty-one researchers covered topics such as poverty, digital innovation, climate adaptation, governance, gender, public health, and South Asia's macroeconomic challenges.
